In society, we are basically told to choose a career path, based on what we are interested in before college even starts, then climb the ladder to management, get a big mortgage, and stay in that management position, possibly until retirement.
I can't remember a time when the idea of career fulfillment or happiness were mentioned throughout my time at university.
