Air Force Training with McConnell's Tankers

Tankers from McConnell AFB recently engaged in training missions at Nellis AFB, North of Las Vegas.

These missions allow pilots of tankers and fighters to practice their in-combat missions. The goal of these exercises is to immerse pilots in the conditions of air combat and refueling. A task that would be impossible with ground training alone.

The tankers are vital because of the amount of time and money it costs to perform these missions when landing, refueling, and taking back off.

These exercises are far more effective when using the tankers because fighters are able to spend much more time in the air, training.

Without the use of Wichita's tankers, the combat training exercises would not be as cost-effective or efficient.

Giant thanks to all of our Wichita service men and women who were involved in these exercises.

Thank all of you for your service!
